
James “Wink” Kraywinkel sings tenor and has been with the quartet for about four years. He started singing when he was in kindergarten with the Edgemont Echoes in San Bruno, California. He polished his singing skills in high school singing with various vocal groups including a barbershop quartet named Whatever Four, and later the Assinine Minus Five. He has continued to sing barbershop on and off through the years both with a local barbershop chorus and with the Auburn Associates, Stairwell Four and Stratus Four quartets.

David Wallace is a native of northern California, a parent of three children, grandfather of six and a retired electrical engineer. His music instruction began with piano at 5 years and elementary school band. He began singing as an adult. David sings also with the Grass Valley Male Voice Choir, Music In The Mountains and the Cornish Carol Choir. He enjoys almost all kinds of music, but prefers classical. This is his first experience of quartet singing.

Jim Wahler has been making music since he was seven. He studied piano for eleven years, violin for four years, and taught himself guitar and banjo. Jim sang in choruses throughout grade school, high school, and college. He formed a number of trios and quartets which sang at school functions and other venues. He has appeared in many musicals, including leading roles, Albert Peterson in “Bye Bye Birdie”, Mordrid in “Camelot”, as well as in other roles. After a break to focus on his profession and family, Jim’s passion for singing harmony was rekindled about 11 years ago by singing with the Sierranaders Barbershop Chorus in Auburn and at the Sierra Center for Spiritual Living. For the past 8+ years, Jim is most excited to be in collaboration with The Harmonic Convergence Quartet and performing for appreciative audiences.

The quartet’s bass, David Moyer, is a 28-year Air Force veteran whose interest in music began with piano, violin and viola lessons. He began his singing career in church and high school choirs. He played viola in the California All State Orchestra. In college he sang with the Westmont Quartet, touring throughout the western United States. Graduating with a BA in psychology and music minor he attended the University of Washington School of Social Work, obtaining a masters of social work and a subsequent commission in the United States Air Force as a clinical social worker. During his Air Force travels he played in a symphony orchestra in Wiesbaden Germany called the Collegium Musicum, and later with the Merced Symphony and the Sierra College Orchestra. For four years he was the choir director at Park Hill Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. He sang with the local Beale AFB a cappella group called Blue Pride and with Music in the Mountains. Since retiring he has written and published three books advocating a whole person approach to bio-behavioral syndromes. He enjoys singing with his wife, four children and six grandchildren.
